Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Case

Iusually don't shill for products, and I don't intend to here. I guess I realize I am in the minority because I use my iPad as my primary writing device. Maybe I want to try to convince others that it can be an enjoyable experience.

I bought the Logitech ultrathin iPay keyboard case last week. I use my iPad along with the Blogsy and Byword  apps to write a lot. I always used the Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard along with the oragami foldable keyboard case. It works okay, but it cumbersome to carry around. I'd wanted a more compact keyboard case, but there didn't seem to be a good option.

The Logitech Ultrathin came out a few weeks ago and I decided to bite. It looks really cool. That was my main motivation. My worry was that the keyboard would be so uncomfortable to use that I would never want to write. I couldn't imagine using a keyboard that was only as wide as the iPad in landscape mode. It seemed way too cramped. I decided to try it out anyway, and I am glad I did.

They keyboard is really good. It looks great when it is all closed up and doesn't add much bulk to the iPad at all. It is fast to set up and start typing. At first it did seem pretty tiny, but my fingers adjusted quickly. I'm probably not as fast as I would be on a full-size keyboard, but I barely notice it. I am amazed by how good it feels to type on. It doesn't feel like the most sturdy thing in the world, but it doesn't feel cheap either. When I bought it I wasn't sure whether I would be keeping it. After a few days of using it I can tell you I will be keeping it for sure, and using it all the time.

Okay, enough of that. I don't like shilling for products. In the reviews on Amazon so many people seemed determine to point out the fact they were using the keyboard to write the review. I found it hilarious. We should be so amazed that they bought a keyboard and now they are using it to write words.
I'm actually sitting on the couch with the keyboard in my lap as I write this review on my iPad 2. Here are some of my obervations.
The special function keys are useful and it's nice to have those keys that are missing from the main keys on the soft keyboard (numbers, arrows, punctuation...). I'm typing this review on it, and it feels much more natural than the soft keyboard.
Anyway, if you have an iPad and want to use it for content creation instead of just content consumption, you should definitely get a bt keyboard. I haven't tried many of them out, but I can tell you the Apple one is very good, but ultimately impractical if you want to be mobile. The Logitech Ultrathin keyboard case is very enjoyable to use... way better than I was expecting it to be. It isn't in stock at Amazon. I got mine at Best Buy. And you know what? I'm writing this very post on it right now.
